The New Panelist on the Block
Your girl has been busy!
On November 5th, I tweeted the following:
I have always dreamed of being on a panel.

I did it once, in college, where we talked about relationships in college. But I’d like to do one now that is relevant to my career and my experiences.
It was just a hope and dream of mine. I always wanted to speak at a conference and since being in the industry, I have had lots to contribute to the ongoing conversations. Jesse Nowlin, IT Director and founder/dreamer of tabGeeks, reached out to me a day later and asked if I wanted to be on their Security panel. I was elated and ecstatic. A phone call later, I was confirmed and now, I will be speaking at tabGeeks. I even have a pretty good graphic!

This is the PERFECT event for me. After reading this excerpt from their site (and, for me personally, after a lengthy phone convo), you will see why tabGeeks is going to be THE con to attend this spring:
After being thoroughly fed up with the lack of learning and professional development opportunities for IT people like him, this IT Director envisioned a community he could relate to. He dreamed of regular meetups and conferences all over the world, a yearly geektastic cruise, and an active slack channel. Jesse would finally have a group of people he could relate to professionally, and attend a conference without being pitched to.

I am nervous beyond belief, but I am also honored and excited. I can’t wait to nerd out in Long Beach and talk security with some security nerds and security enthusiasts. Hopefully, I will see you there!
Thank you, again, to Jesse and Shani Nowlin for choosing me and making my dream come true. I hope I do not disappoint!
